Error "Unable to reach server" on the Nortel Vpn Client
On the Win 7 the nortel cannot connect to the Vpn Enviroment, However with the same setting all worked fine on the Win Xp. Nothin changed in terms of the Cofiguration otherwise, works well in the Office Location not @ home or Client location. Has 2 firewalls one is the Windows other is the F-Secure (both are disabled) still nothing works well. Kindly suggest

I am also getting this error message. I have a win7 netbook that connects wirelessly and via network cable just fine to VPN. My Desktop gives me this error via wireless adapter and network cable.

Hello, I was also experiencing this problem for over one month and discovered the cause right now. It is the media sharing service (aka DLNA) of the Windows Media Player. Disable the service which will operate again. Have not figured out what the relationship is probably a port conflict.

you just need stop ICS (internet connecttion sharing) services, that is!

Internet connection sharing (ICS) should not be affecting the VPN however in general its unused so it should not be running. ICS has been around since Windows 98 Keep in mind that depending on the server in use and the security setup XP clients cannot connect. XP lacks the enhanced security of Vista and up Windows MVP 2010-11, XP, Vista, 7. I seem to be getting this message as well. The problem is sometimes the Nortel vpn client works and then other times I get unable to reach server. It acts like it doesn't even go out and try to reach the server. Any ideas on how to fix this?

How did you guys make this work for you on windows 7? I got a new laptop and got unable to connect to server error. The same version of VPN client works fine on my old Windows 7 machine. Tried to close and open the client and reboot machine, doesn't help. The ICS is not enabled.
